All engines and transmissions are secured on heavy-duty freight pallets, wrapped with industrial stretch film, and strapped for stability. We use freight carriers experienced in handling heavy mechanical parts. Engines are drained of fluids before shipping per freight carrier requirements.
Before signing for the delivery, inspect the pallet and packaging for visible damage. If damage is present, note it on the delivery receipt and contact us immediately. Do not install a part that appears to have been damaged in transit β contact our team first and we'll work with the carrier to file a claim and arrange a replacement.

When you contact us, provide your vehicle's year, make, model, engine size, and VIN number if available. Our team cross-references this information against our inventory to confirm compatibility before you pay. We don't ship parts without confirming they're the right fit for your application.
No problem β your VIN number contains encoded information about your factory engine and transmission. If you provide us with your VIN, we can look up the exact specifications your vehicle was built with. Alternatively, your vehicle's door jamb sticker or owner's manual may also have this information.
Often yes β many engine families share the same block across multiple model years, making cross-year swaps compatible. However, there can be differences in sensors, wiring harness connectors, emissions equipment, and computer calibration. Our team will advise on known compatibility issues for your specific swap before you order.
Engines are typically supplied as a "long block" (block, head, camshafts, valvetrain) unless otherwise specified. Accessories such as the alternator, power steering pump, intake manifold, and exhaust manifolds may or may not be included β this will be specified in your quote. Automatic transmissions always include the torque converter at no extra charge.

Every engine undergoes a multi-point inspection including: cylinder compression test, leak-down test, visual inspection of all seals and gaskets, bearing wear assessment, oil and coolant inspection for contamination signs, and mileage verification against available records. Engines that don't pass are not listed for sale.
Transmissions are dyno tested for shift quality and engagement in all gears, valve body and solenoid function is checked, the torque converter is inspected, fluid condition is assessed, and external seals are checked for leaks. We also verify the transmission shifts smoothly through its full range before approving it for sale.
We verify mileage through available vehicle history records from the donor vehicle, odometer documentation, and physical inspection of internal wear indicators. We are transparent when a part's mileage cannot be fully verified and will note this in the listing or quote.
Yes β all parts are cleaned externally before inspection. Engines are drained of old oil and sealed at all openings for shipping. Transmissions are drained of fluid, inspected, and also sealed. We recommend a full fluid service upon installation regardless of the part's condition at arrival.
If a part is defective or was incorrectly described, you may return it within the warranty period. Contact us at support@junkyardgold.com with your order details and a description of the issue. We'll arrange a return shipment and either replace the part or issue a refund depending on availability and your preference.
If you receive a wrong part due to an error on our end, we will cover return shipping and send the correct part at no additional cost. If the incorrect part was ordered due to an error in the information you provided (wrong year, model, engine size), a restocking fee may apply and return shipping is the customer's responsibility.
Installed parts can only be returned under warranty if a defect is present. Parts that have been installed and are functioning correctly cannot be returned. Parts that have been modified, machined, or damaged during installation are not eligible for return or warranty claim.
